Her status as an orphan, along with her unusual eyes, leads the other people in her village to bully and abuse her, forcing her to carry out the villages worst jobs. When the demon Greol appeared and demanded human sacrifices Aku was cast out by the village to be killed until she was saved by Kunai and became his partner.
