Alan Sylvasta is one of the main characters and the main antagonist of BNA: Brand New Animal. He is the CEO of Sylvasta Pharmaceuticals. Alan is a calm, poised, and commanding figure. When Yaba saw that Alan was calling him, he immediately tensed up and was fearful through the entire conversation. Alan's words also carry a lot of weight among his staff. He also has a relaxed and playful side too. After the Medical Center bomb incident, he excitedly announces the closure of a research facility and his plans to visit Anima City. He even has a certain pride as a purebred beastman, looking down on those of the hybrid bloodlines. Beneath his dashing exterior is a diabolical and manipulative heart that sought to control humans and beastmen at his own liking by pitching discrimination in both species. He's the descendant of Reymond Sylvasta, a general who lead an army that killed all the beastmen in the Eastern European beastmen-only city Nirvasyl roughly a thousand years before the events of the show.

An original anime by Studio Trigger, BNA is set in a 21st century in which the existence of humanoid animals has been revealed to the world after living in the darkness for centuries. One day, a high school student named Michiru suddenly turns into a tanuki person. After going to live in Anima City, where she meets wolf Ogami Shiro, she goes on to investigate why she became an animal and gets mixed up in even stranger events in the process.
