Anne was one of the fellow prostitutes living together with Jack and his mother, Mary in a brothel during the later 19th century London. Despite appearing to be a blunt, angry and sorrowful alcoholic, this is mainly to drown out the sadness in of her own life. Anne seems to be good person at heart in reality, demonstrated by multiple showings of empathy to Jack even after knowing he was the infamous Jack the Ripper.
