Aoi Todo is a supporting character in the Jujutsu Kaisen series. He is a third-year at Kyoto Jujutsu High School and a grade 1 sorcerer. Aoi is a young man with a tall and very defined muscular build, standing about the same height as Satoru Gojo[1]. Aoi has shoulder-length black hair that is always tied into a top ponytail and small black eyes. One of Aoi's most noticeable features is the large scar running down the left side of his face. While fighting, Aoi never wears a shirt and usually dons his signature martial arts pants and slippers. His normal choice of pants are accented with a teal blue sash. Casually, Aoi chooses to wear normal t-shirts and collared shirts. He has also worn shorts while playing ping-pong rather than his normal choice of pants. In his fantasy attending Junior High with Yuji Itadori and Takada-chan, Aoi wears a school uniform that consists of a black jacket that Aoi left open to reveal the purple shirt underneath. Even in these forged memories, Aoi wears his blue sash with his pants. Aoi is an extremely eccentric individual who at first appears to be nothing more than a battle-crazed meathead to all his peers. He enjoys posing, showing off his muscles, and the thrill of battle. Upon first meeting Megumi, Aoi beat the first-year to a pulp for simply being "boring". This is because Aoi hates boring things in life and he feared that his last Goodwill Event would be uneventful without Okkotsu attending. As a child, Aoi was extremely strong and his life became mundane due to his overwhelming strength relative to his age. By becoming a jujutsu sorcerer, Aoi quelled his boredom and is irritated by anyone or anything that might return him to that boring state of life. In order to get a read on people and tell if they're boring, Aoi will ask male rival sorcerers what kind of girls they like. He believes he can tell everything about a man from his taste in women because the woman who introduced him to the jujutsu world introduced herself by asking that very same question. Due to this line of questioning, Aoi's disposition towards fellow sorcerers can vary drastically. From attacking Megumi on sight after not being pleased with his response, to becoming incredibly friendly towards Yuji after he reveals they have the same tastes. While mentoring Yuji during the Goodwill Event, Aoi showed a much more intelligent and even philosophical side of himself. Aoi showed Yuji how to properly focus his cursed energy by mastering his emotions by understanding how it flows. Aoi understands that every individual exists in the world with their entire mind, body, and soul, something most people take for granted. This philosophy is what trigged Yuji into eventually realizing a part of his potential by utilizing Black Flash to its fullest effect. In the face of danger, Aoi has gained a reputation for defeating powerful cursed spirits. Against Hanami, he was able to maintain a confident presence that made Hanami wary of him despite the difference in their cursed energy. Aoi also speaks lightly of his achievements during the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons. Aoi is known by his peers to be extremely strong, but somewhat irritating due to his eccentric attitude. In fact, the majority of his peers appear to hate Aoi, as most students from both Tokyo and Kyoto praised Maki for pitching the ball into Aoi's face during the baseball game.
Sorcery Fight
Idly indulging in baseless paranormal activities with the Occult Club, high schooler Yuuji Itadori spends his days at either the clubroom or the hospital, where he visits his bedridden grandfather. However, this leisurely lifestyle soon takes a turn for the strange when he unknowingly encounters a cursed item. Triggering a chain of supernatural occurrences, Yuuji finds himself suddenly thrust into the world of Curses—dreadful beings formed from human malice and negativity—after swallowing the said item, revealed to be a finger belonging to the demon Sukuna Ryoumen, the "King of Curses." Yuuji experiences first-hand the threat these Curses pose to society as he discovers his own newfound powers. Introduced to the Tokyo Metropolitan Jujutsu Technical High School, he begins to walk down a path from which he cannot return—the path of a Jujutsu sorcerer.
Sorcery Fight (Manga)
Hidden in plain sight, an age-old conflict rages on. Supernatural monsters known as "Curses" terrorize humanity from the shadows, and powerful humans known as "Jujutsu" sorcerers use mystical arts to exterminate them. When high school student Yuuji Itadori finds a dried-up finger of the legendary Curse Sukuna Ryoumen, he suddenly finds himself joining this bloody conflict. Attacked by a Curse attracted to the finger's power, Yuuji makes a reckless decision to protect himself, gaining the power to combat Curses in the process but also unwittingly unleashing the malicious Sukuna into the world once more. Though Yuuji can control and confine Sukuna to his own body, the Jujutsu world classifies Yuuji as a dangerous, high-level Curse who must be exterminated. Detained and sentenced to death, Yuuji meets Satoru Gojou—a teacher at Jujutsu High School—who explains that despite his imminent execution, there is an alternative for him. Being a rare vessel to Sukuna, if Yuuji were to die, then Sukuna would perish too. Therefore, if Yuuji were to consume the many other remnants of Sukuna, then Yuuji's subsequent execution would truly eradicate the malicious demon. Taking up this chance to make the world safer and live his life for a little longer, Yuuji enrolls in Jujutsu High, jumping headfirst into a harsh and unforgiving battlefield.
