Erina Nakiri is one of the heroines and was a sometimes rival to Sōma Yukihira in Shokugeki no Soma. Wielding the best palate in the world, "God's Tongue" and a member of the illustrious Nakiri family, Erina stands above everyone in her class as the top prospect of the 92nd Tōtsuki Generation and is a former 10th seat of the Elite Ten Council. Following the rebel alliance's victory during the Regimental Shokugeki, she has been formally appointed the Headmaster of Tōtsuki Academy by Sōma and her grandfather and former Headmaster Senzaemon Nakiri. Erina has purple-pinkish eyes and long honey blonde hair that flows just above her lower back. Her side bangs partially cross her cheeks and go down all the way to her neck. She is considered by most of the students in Tōtsuki to be extremely beautiful. According to her fans and followers, this trait coincides with her status. During her second year, her hair became longer and wilder. As a third year, Erina changed her hair style while also having cut it, reaching only up to her chin. She wears whatever Tōtsuki uniform corresponds with the current season. Whenever she cooks, she wears a standard white chef's uniform and occasionally wears a chef's hat. She has never been shown in casual clothing except for a cotton jacket and a bikini during her pool outing and a simple nightgown when sleeping. Her measurements are: bust 88cm, waist 56cm and hip 87cm (35-22-34). Hailing from a patrician background, Erina is a highly privileged and pampered girl, used to only the best things in life. She is admired and feared throughout Tōtsuki for her talent, looks, and her influential status. Erina is an egotist, holding dogmatic ideals on absolute culinary perfection. She enjoys a great reputation across the culinary world for her "God Tongue" which was said to either make or break a chef's career. The mere mention of her name was enough to terrify the applicants of Tōtsuki except for one who was unaware of her reputation. Much of Erina's personality is a result of the abusive training that her father Azami subjected her to in her early childhood. She also developed a deep rooted fear of her father, becoming petrified in his presence and unable to think or do the right thing. She is also affected by her mother's abandonment and yearns for her approval. Due to Erina's haughty personality, she cannot make friends easily as she is disdainful of vritually everyone. She lacks knowledge on some social conventions. While she detests the idea of romance and showing no interest, she began to like reading Shōjo manga to learn more on romance when Alice tease her about lack of knowledge about romance. Due to her sheltered background, Erina was not used to living on her own, unable to operate a washing machine. However, during her time in the dormitory, she gained many general living skills and even showed pride in knowing what all the laundry symbols on clothing meant. After defecting to Polar Star Dormitory, Erina's perspective on cooking changed after she met the residents over there. She also made new friends who empathised with her after finding out what Azami did to her. Erina comes to care a lot for her friends and shared her knowledge with them, which allowed the rebels to pass the rigged promotion exams. Erina later overcame her fear of her father and vehemently opposed him, denouncing his beliefs. Like her father, Erina adulates Saiba Jōichirō as the ultimate chef, when the latter had once cooked for her in her early childhood. As such she judges everyone according to his standards. When she discovered Jōichirō's paternal connection with Sōma, she was shocked to the core.

Food Wars! The Fifth Plate
Fifth season of Food Wars!

Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma
Ever since he was a child, fifteen-year-old Souma Yukihira has helped his father by working as the sous chef in the restaurant his father runs and owns. Throughout the years, Souma developed a passion for entertaining his customers with his creative, skilled, and daring culinary creations. His dream is to someday own his family's restaurant as its head chef. Yet when his father suddenly decides to close the restaurant to test his cooking abilities in restaurants around the world, he sends Souma to Tootsuki Culinary Academy, an elite cooking school where only 10 percent of the students graduate. The institution is famous for its "Shokugeki" or "food wars," where students face off in intense, high-stakes cooking showdowns. As Souma and his new schoolmates struggle to survive the extreme lifestyle of Tootsuki, more and greater challenges await him, putting his years of learning under his father to the test.

Food Wars! The Second Plate
The qualifiers of the Autumn Elections are now over, and only eight talented chefs remain. Now, they face off in one-on-one food wars, each with their own unique themes. Met with both new judges and new opponents all with their own specialties, Souma must stay on his toes if he hopes to make it to the top of both the Autumn Elections and Totsuki Culinary Academy.

Food Wars! The Second Plate OVA
Having completed their Stagiaire assignments, the residents of Polar Star Dormitory and their friends visit a hot springs inn. Though they planned on relaxing, these young chefs step up to the plate when the inn's entire kitchen staff suffer accidents. Unbeknownst to them, they will not be cooking for any ordinary patrons. Sometime after this trip, Souma Yukihira's desire for worthy opponents is stoked when he, Megumi Tadokoro, and the other Autumn Election quarter-finalists are invited to the annual Autumn Leaves Viewing event. The eight Tootsuki freshmen have a special opportunity to enjoy tea with the Elite Ten Council—including the Tenth Seat Erina Nakiri, who participates alongside her first-year classmates. Though it is framed as a friendly introduction between nine promising underclassmen and nine prestigious upperclassmen, Director Senzaemon Nakiri sees this meeting for what it is: a first encounter between the current reigning elite and their eventual usurpers.

Food Wars! The Third Plate
The Moon Festival is Tootsuki Academy's annual gourmet gala, where students compete against each other to earn the most profit through selling their cuisine of choice. But for Souma Yukihira, it is also his first opportunity to challenge the Elite Ten, the supreme council that rules over the academy. However, this is only the beginning of Souma's war against the Elite Ten; a nefarious plot is underway that will provide Souma with the challenge he desires but will also shake the very foundations of Totsuki Academy itself.

Food Wars! The Third Plate: Totsuki Train Arc
A dark age of cooking befalls Totsuki Culinary Academy. With the Elite Ten's devastating coup d'état, Azami Nakiri is now the director of the prestigious school. Students must now conform to Azami's ideology of "true gourmet food" and are forbidden to express creativity, or else face expulsion. However, Souma Yukihira and the members of the Polar Star Dormitory refuse to accept these changes. Aided by other rebellious first-years, including the tenth seat, Erina Nakiri, Souma and his allies band together to fight off supporters of Azami's regime. But corrupt instructors and the menacing Central organization stand in their way, and so they must work together, harder than ever before, to survive every underhanded plot designed to banish them from the school.

Food Wars! The Fourth Plate
At Totsuki Culinary Academy, a heated eight-on-eight Shokugeki known as the Régiment de Cuisine rages on between Central and the rebel forces led by Souma Yukihira and Erina Nakiri. Though they won a stunning perfect victory in the first bout, the rebels face an uphill battle ahead, as they must now face off against the rest of the Elite Ten Council. With the future of Totsuki at stake, Souma and Erina must push far beyond the limits of their abilities, using everything they learned from their mentors and ultimately drawing from their experiences cooking together as friends.
