Tadpoles n shit Eruka Frog is a young, frog themed Witch of the Witch Order who was coerced into Medusa's Army as one of her spies. She was formerly one of the antagonists in the series. Like many other Witches, Eruka craves destruction and enjoys the fact that she was born a witch. However, she is extremely cowardly, preferring to flee rather than fight, and never hesitates to beg for mercy when cowed. Despite her malicious intent, Eruka has an earnest disposition with other Witches, including the Mizune family, with whom she is close friends. She can be demeaning to those whom she considers inferior, though. Unlike more powerful and malign witches, such as Medusa, Eruka is not so cold and heartless, on several occasions showing regret and consideration for others. She expresses guilt about lying to the Mizune family, and tries to reassure Crona when they are asked to spy on Professor Stein. Eruka has before appeared to be enthusiastic and cheerful. Upon escaping from Medusa's leadership, she is seen skipping out of happiness due to her freedom.

Death City is home to the famous Death Weapon Meister Academy, a technical academy headed by the Shinigami—Lord Death himself. Its mission: to raise "Death Scythes" for the Shinigami to wield against the many evils of their fantastical world. The contrasting duo work and study alongside the hot headed Black☆Star and his caring weapon Tsubaki, as well as the Shinigami's own son, Death the Kid, an obsessive-compulsive dual wielder of twin pistols Patty and Liz. Soul Eater follows these students of Shibusen as they take on missions to collect souls and protect the city from the world's threats while working together under the snickering sun to become sounder in mind, body, and soul.
