Golem (ゴーレム Gōremu) is an original character created by Yako Kureishi in the Somali and the Forest Spirit manga and anime series. He will be voiced by Daisuke Ono in the anime.He has a body of stone-like material woven together by some sort of string hidden beneath a cloth-like armor keeps him from falling apart, or being exposed to deadly situations. Underneath the symmetrical line on his face is a large black and green eye that can analyze almost anything as long as it is not very well hidden.

In a world where the ruined human species has been driven almost to extinction by the monsters that now dominate the land, a forest golem is surprised to find a human child sitting alone in the woods - dirty, barefoot, and in chains. The golem takes little Somali under his protection and the two begin a journey together, traveling through beautiful and dangerous lands where the small girl's humanity must be kept hidden for her own safety. The golem hopes to find Somali's parents alive somewhere, but the chances of this are slim; and besides, as far as Somali is concerned, she has already found herself a beloved father.

The world is ruled by spirits, goblins, and all manner of strange creatures. Human beings are persecuted, to the very point of extinction. One day, a golem and a lone human girl meet. This is a record of the pair, one a member of a ruined race, the other a watchman of the forest. It tells of their travels together and of the bond between father and daughter.
