Ichika Arima (有馬一花, Arima Ichika) is Rio's best friend. Ichika sees a man who is about to fall down the stairs on the train station and pulls him back using her umbrella. He thanks her for saving his life and she hears he hasn't eaten breakfast and was weak most likely due to anemia so she gives him her lunchbox and leaves. Later, she goes to her friend Rio's apartment and when Rio's older brother returns, she is surprised to see the man she gave her lunchbox to earlier. While Rio is on the phone, the man introduces himself as Amakusa Ryou. He wants to thank her, but considers buying her clothes or shoes is too cheap and offers a kiss. Ichika is immediately disgusted and expresses it, however Ryou finds her reaction wonderful.

The story follows the relationship between Amakusa Ryou, a sex-crazed but highly eligible bachelor with a wandering eye for women, and Arima Ichika, an ordinary otaku high school girl who is close friends with Ryou's little sister Rio. Ryou and Ichika meet by chance one day, but Ryou's direct approach — asking Ichika for a kiss and a date on the same day they meet — is a complete turn-off for Ichika.
