The protagonist of the series, Ichise is an extremely quiet 19 year old prize-fighter who was orphaned at an early age. After angering one of the game managers, he has his arm and leg cut off and is left to die. However, his amazing determination to survive results in him being taken by the mysterious Doc, who outfits him with Texhnolyzed limbs without his consent.
