During the Sengoku period, when the whole nation was turned into the battle fields, Kagemitsu, the Lord of Daigo, makes a pact with 12 demon statues in exchange for the prosperity and rulership of the territory as he promises each of the demons a piece of his unborn child. Upon birth, this malformed limbless child is thrown away and cast into a river. Time passes and peace comes to the country. One day, a young thief named Dororo encounters a ronin named Hyakkimaru.
