Kyoshiro Kokujo is a duelist from the Duel Masters franchise. He is a self proclaimed evil genius with fangs that likes to wear long black coats and laugh maniacally. He enjoys going around to different card shops and challenging the strongest player there, often toying with them. At first he pretends to be bad at the game then when his opponent gets confident he shows his true skill and crushes them without mercy. His ruthless dueling style has earned him the nickname Kuroi Shinigami, "The Black Reaper". He always uses a deck predominately focused around the Darkness civilization, though he dabbles with others at times, such as the Water civilization. In the first season of the anime his signature creature was Deathliger Lion Of Chaos. After the introduction of advanced card mechanics his new signature became Ballom Master Of Death and it's alternate versions such as Dorballom Lord Of Demons from the second season onwards. In later seasons he also started using Xenom The Reaper King frequently.

Duel Masters! is the direct sequel to the new story that debuted in Duel Masters (2017). In the new series' story, the balance of the Creature World is starting to crumble. A talking deck case named Decky comes to the human world to search for a Duel Master to preserve equilibrium. There he sees Joe's power to create creatures.
Duel Masters
The world of Duel Masters is one of five great civilizations. Through a card game, duelists can bring these worlds into existence, making what was previously abstract into reality. These skilled duelists are known as Kaijudo masters. Shobu Kirifuda is the best player at his local playground, and seeks to become a world-class master like his father. His first step on the road to conquest begins with winning a local tournament. Rather, it should have, except he is destroyed by the best Kaijudo master in the world, Knight. Shobu loses, but upon remembering the words of wisdom his father instilled into him, decides to continue on the road of becoming a duelist who can enjoy the game for what it is. And so begins his journey to victory－and as we all know, the journey is the most important part!
