Manako Kagami is one of the supporting characters of the Murenase! Seton Gakuen series. Manako is usually nervous around other people and becomes stressed when anyone suddenly tries to interact with her, causing her to instinctively commit suicide. However, she is able to befriend other students willing to get close to her despite her fragile nature. Manako is also a fan of Meimei and often watched the panda from a distance, since talking to her would stress Manako out from happiness, though they would become friends and she got to be a little more comfortable around Meimei. She also has something in common with Miyubi Shishio, as both die frequently without really wanting to, and it was that connection that allowed them to become friends as well. As a tarsier, Manako is shown to possess great jumping ability, being able to jump up to incredible heights roughly 25 times her own height. Manako will often instinctively bang her head and die when in stressful situations, but she can easily come back to life shortly afterwards, much like Miyubi Shishio.

Seton Academy, a school full of animals where, thanks to population decline, there are fewer humans than any other creature. Mazama Jin, an animal hater and the only human male in his class, falls in love with Hino Hitomi, the only female human, the moment he lays eyes her. However he soon finds himself entangled with various other creatures after he reluctantly joins the 'pack' of Lanka the wolf, the only other member of her pack.
