Nako is mainly seen as a delinquent, and usually wears a slightly stern or disinterested look on her face. She has short, blonde hair and amber eyes. And a small tuft of hair is always sticking out at the middle on the side of her head. She usually wears an orange, woolen trouser with a short skirt underneath it. She also wears medium length stockings and brown shoes. When at the pool, she wears a short lime skirt with a little white ribbon on her left side. She also wears a white crop top with a green ribbon in the middle. Nako is generally blunt and straightforward in her demeanor. She usually isn't afraid of the consequences of her actions and is fairly laid-back. Nako is often seen as a scary delinquent, but after getting to know her, her friends would describe her as a nice and caring person.

Hitori Bocchi suffers from extreme social anxiety, she's not good at talking to people, takes pretty extreme actions, is surprisingly adept at avoiding people, her legs cramp when she overexerts herself, gets full of herself when alone, will vomit when exposed to extreme tension and often comes up with plans. Now she is entering middle school and her only friend, Yawara Kai, is attending a different school. This leaves Bocchi alone, surrounded by new classmates with whom she must make friends before Kai will talk to her again.
