Description

Noé Archiviste is one of the main protagonists of The Case Study Of Vanitas. He was sent to Paris by his teacher on a search for the Book Of Vanitas. Having found the book and its owner, Vanitas, Noé is now his unwilling partner. Noé is a tall young man, often seen wearing a white top hat with a purple ribbon. He has brown skin and red eyes, the latter due to being a vampire. Noé has short, white hair that falls in his face with a large strand covering his nose. He wears a white trench coat with a red belt, white trousers, a white waistcoat and a black shirt. Noé also wears a purple bow around his neck. Noé is a caring person, having shown concern for the stranger, Amelia Ruth, when she fainted and continuing to worry for her safety thereafter. He has shown himself to be excitable at times, having been astonished by the airship, La Baleine, and the view of Paris below. After seeing Vanitas heal Amelia of Malnomen Noé expresses childish amazement, throughout Paris he continues to be excited by trivial things such as architecture, music and clowns. Noé has also been shown to have a quick temper. Responding with annoyance to Vanitas' pestering and becoming enraged at the thought of Amelia's execution, going so far as to kick Count Orlok's desk across the room in response to the news.

The Case Study of Vanitas

Rumors revolving around The Book of Vanitas, a clockwork grimoire of dubious reputation, draw Noé, a young vampire in search of a friend's salvation, to Paris. What awaits him in the City of Flowers, however, is not long hours treading the pavement or rifling through dusty bookshops in search of the tome. Instead, his quarry comes to him...in the arms of a man claiming to be a vampire doctor! Thrust into a conflict that threatens the peace between humans and vampires, will Noé cast in his lot with the curious and slightly unbalanced Vanitas and his quest to save vampirekind? [Yen Press]
