Description

The Spas-12 (Special/Sporting Purpose Automatic Shotgun) is a combat shotgun originally designed in 1979 by the gun manufacturer Franchi. The Spas-12 is a dual mode shotgun which can be adjusted for semi-automatic or pump action usage. The Spas-12 was designed to be a rugged military shotgun, dubbed the Special Purpose Automatic Shotgun, later changed to Sporting Purpose Automatic Shotgun in 1990 because it could be sold in the United States as a shotgun with limited magazine capacity, and a fixed stock. It was not until 1994 the Federal Weapons Assault Ban in the US would prohibit one from owning a Spas-12. It would not be until 2004 that the Spas-12 would see the light of day in the west once more, but not to any good as Franchi stopped production of the Spas-12 in 2000 to focus on the Spas-15 shotgun. The Spas-12 is a very well known shotgun known for it's usage in many films, tv shows, and video games alike. It's one defining feature is the stock. You can use the stock either folded or as an extension of the weapon allowing for more recoil control. The Spas-12 has a unique magazine cut-in feature, which prevents loading in a new shell from the magazine when the gun is cycling rounds. This means whoever is firing the weapon is allowed to load in any special rounds into the shotgun without firing the entire magazine.
