The Type 56 Carbine (not to be confused with the Type 56 Assault Rifle) was a local Chinese copy of the Soviet-era Simonov SKS Carbine self-loading rifle and, as such, shared many similarities with the original design including both form and function. Like the SKS before it, the Type 56 utilized the Soviet 7.62x39mm M1943 "intermediate" cartridge established during World War 2 - the same cartridge that would eventually power the ubiquitous AK-47 assault rifle series still to come.

Girls' Frontline is a mobile strategy game developed by MICA Team, a Chinese company. It is a moe anthropomorphism game in which the player controls echelons of characters, each of which are based on actual guns. The game was released in Mainland China on 20 May 2016, and in Hong Kong and Taiwan on 18 January 2017. It was also released in South Korea on 30 June 2017. The English version published by SUNBORN Network Technology was released on May 8, 2018. This game is a prequel of another game developed by the same company called Bakery Girls.
