Vela is one of the protagonists of Jet Force Gemini, along with her twin brother Juno, and their dog Lupus. Vela was orphaned at a young age, her parents murdered by space pirates. When Juno decided to join Jet Force, Vela was quick to follow. She naturally shares her brother's passion and dedication to their cause, but she often relies on her temper to get her out of tricky situations. Always the feisty one, she's followed the Jet Force dream both through a fierce sense of justice, and a determination to prove the equality of the fairer sex in the skeptical military world. During the team's campaign against the tyrant Mizar, Vela was briefly captured by drone forces. But after Juno freed her, nothing stopped her from that point forward. Her efforts were instrumental in bringing down Mizar's army, her greatest achievement being a one-woman assault on the Ichor Military Base. Her training in Jet Force made her proficient with a number of weapons, including the Machine Gun, the Plasma Shotgun, the Sniper Rifle, and Shurikens. Though her weapon of choice is the Tri Rocket Launcher, a deadly handheld gun that fires three spiralling warheads, reducing practically anything it hits into pieces in seconds. Thanks to special bio-mechanical enhancements to her lungs, Vela can stay underwater for an indefinite period of time. She can also jump surprisingly high, and is incredibly durable, able to take a large amount of damage before being brought down.
Jet Force Gemini
Jet Force Gemini revolves around the Jet Force Gemini team attempting to defeat the dark insectoid tyrant Mizar and his horde of drones. The team is composed of Juno, Vela, and their wardog mascot Lupus. The game begins with the three characters in orbit around the planet Goldwood after barely escaping the destruction of the entire Jet Force fleet at the hands of Mizar, who has been capturing and enslaving a race of survivors known as the Tribals. When Juno, Vela and Lupus are attacked by several drones, the three decide to abandon their ship and go off on their own separate paths to stop the invasion.
