Yūri is a second-year on the Machido High kendo team. Despite being on the kendo team, Yūri appears to have no real desire to win. During important matches she often seems bored or is doing some other activity, such as reading a book. It is only when she is in a match that she shows any motivation. She will openly badmouth her teammates and is not a morning person. In the morning she is practically useless until she gets food, especially something sugary, into her system. She has a very dark and sadistic side, similar to Miyako Miyazaki, and even has a similar purplish-black aura. When she releases the aura even her teammates become wary of her. During matches she will use sneaky methods to win, such as tripping her opponents or stepping on her opponents’ feet, despite Kenzaburō Ishibashi telling her not to. If someone accuses her of cheating she will put on a falsely sweet face and pretend that she has no idea what they’re talking about.
