Elsa is a minor character in BNA: Brand New Animal. She is a lioness Beastman and an associate of Gram Grandma. Elsa has an athletic build, fair complexion, short, strawberry-blonde hair, and golden eyes. She wears a black, sleeveless crop top, black leggings, and brown flats. Elsa is shown to be loyal to Gram Grandma but also a violent, amoral and cruel female, willing to harm others for her own benefits. She is affiliated with Gram Grandma's branch of Giuliano Flip's Yakuza family, residing in Rabbit Town in Anima City. This branch is known for the human trafficking of beastmen. She and Masaru Kusakabe have a mutual dislike for each other. In Rabbit Town, Elsa and Gram Grandma's other goons believe that Michiru is challenging them in her beastman form, take her to Gram Grandma and mock her for being a former human. Elsa nearly fights with Masaru until Giuliano Flip enters. After Michiru frees herself and the children, Elsa is furious and attempts to kill Michiru, until Shirou Ogami appears to save Michiru. She then gets brutally punched in the face by Shirou and passes out, before being arrested by the police.

An original anime by Studio Trigger, BNA is set in a 21st century in which the existence of humanoid animals has been revealed to the world after living in the darkness for centuries. One day, a high school student named Michiru suddenly turns into a tanuki person. After going to live in Anima City, where she meets wolf Ogami Shiro, she goes on to investigate why she became an animal and gets mixed up in even stranger events in the process.
