Hiromu Yaba is a minor character in BNA: Brand New Animal. He was an Indian Rhinoceros Beastman and the director of the Medical Center. He reported directly to Alan Sylvasta. In his human form, Yaba is stocky in stature and has a wide head, large nose, and gray receding hair. He wears a collared shirt, khakis, and a white lab coat. In his beastman form, he resembles a gray rhinoceros and yields tremendous strength. He is best described as cynical and aggressive. He attacks and scolds Shirou for failing to stop the bomb incident at the hospital. Later, he retaliates and attacks Shirou and the company instead of submitting quietly when his corruption is discovered. Super Strength: In his beastman form, Yaba gains tremendous strength and easily able to destroy furniture and subdue Shirou.

An original anime by Studio Trigger, BNA is set in a 21st century in which the existence of humanoid animals has been revealed to the world after living in the darkness for centuries. One day, a high school student named Michiru suddenly turns into a tanuki person. After going to live in Anima City, where she meets wolf Ogami Shiro, she goes on to investigate why she became an animal and gets mixed up in even stranger events in the process.
