Kōichi Ishizaki is a supporting character in BNA: Brand New Animal. He is the secretary of Barbara Rose. He is a pangolin Beastman. Koichi has a very well built, stocky physique with a square jaw, red, rectangular-frame glasses, stern eyes. He wears a black suit with a white shirt, maroon tie, and yellow pin on his lapel. In Runaway Raccoon, Koichi and Mayor Rose have a virtual meeting with Prime Minister Shiramizu who threatens them during Anima City's 10th anniversary. They then have a toast together to celebrate the anniversary of the city. In Rabbit Town, Koichi and Mayor Rose discuss with Shirou Ogami about the anti-beastmen terrorists Shirou defeated prior and he expresses his sadness on how beastmen can be lured to help evil humans who offer them money.

An original anime by Studio Trigger, BNA is set in a 21st century in which the existence of humanoid animals has been revealed to the world after living in the darkness for centuries. One day, a high school student named Michiru suddenly turns into a tanuki person. After going to live in Anima City, where she meets wolf Ogami Shiro, she goes on to investigate why she became an animal and gets mixed up in even stranger events in the process.
