Laurent Thierry is an expert French con man, renowned for his persuasiveness and quick wit. Laurent has fair blond hair and light blue eyes. In his initial appearance, he wore a pink Hawaiian t-shirt with lilac-colored flower patterns on it, white pants, and shoes. he wears a suit. Laurent is about 6’3. He operates as a Robin Hood of sorts, only targeting the corrupt, who obtain their wealth by unrepentantly harming honest people, for his scams; he prefers to expose his victims for their crimes and use the profits from his scams to help honest and underprivileged people. While ruthless toward his victims, he treats his comrades and associates like a family. He has a flirtatious nature and is a reputed playboy. He comes off as very classy most of the time, though he has his sillier moments.
Great Pretender
Makoto Edamura is a con man who is said to be “Japan's greatest swindler.” One day, after trying to pickpocket a foreigner, Edamura finds that all of his money was stolen instead. Chasing the man down all the way to Los Angeles, he learns the foreigner is Laurent Thierry, a French con man who has ties to international criminal organizations. After Edamura follows Thierry and thwarts his big drug deal, Edamura gets tied up and left to die on the famous Hollywood sign.
