Sei Shōnagon, also known as Glittering Archer, is an Archer-class Servant able to be summoned by Ritsuka Fujimaru in the Grand Orders of Fate/Grand Order. The daughter of Kiyohara no Motosuke, one of the “Five men of the Pear Chamber” accredited with compiling the readings for the oldest collection of Japanese poetry in existence, the Man'yōshū. A woman who lived in a society revolved around men, however, through her own power and initiative she was able to show the world her amazing talent. She stayed close by the side of Empress Teishi who was the wife of Emperor Ichijō until Teishi's passing. After the Empress’ death, her musings and observations of court life surrounding Teishi were compiled into a book called “The Pillow Book”. As soon as you think she’s always running around having a blast in a great mood, you notice that there are times where she suddenly feels down. Similar to a cat she can be fickle to her surroundings, however, for the most part she focuses on having fun more than anything else. She’s a party girl servant. Sei was a girl that was ahead of the times and lit up her surroundings while musing about her love for the beauty of things around her. Though there is the question of where exactly her poet-like appearance has gone to, in her case due to having such a strong connection with the culture of today’s young people she ended up being summoned in her current appearance. As there is the historical fact that when she was within Teishi’s inner circle she was concerned about her age, her current appearance as a high school girl isn't that unexpected.

Fate/Grand Order (Game)
Fate/Grand Order is an online, free-to-play role-playing mobile game developed by Delightworks using Unity, and published by Aniplex. The game is based on Type-Moon's Fate/stay night franchise, and was released in Japan on July 29, 2015 for Android, and on August 12, 2015 for iOS. The game is centered around turn-based combat where the player, who takes on the role of a "Master", summons and commands powerful familiars known as "Servants" to battle enemies. The story narrative is presented in a visual novel format, and each Servant has their own scenario which the player can explore. In 2015, the Chaldea Security Organization draws on experts of both the magical and mundane fields to observe the future of mankind for possible extinction events. Humanity's survival seems assured for the next century—until the verdict suddenly changes, and now eradication of the species awaits at the end of 2016. The cause is unknown, but appears to be linked with the Japanese town of Fuyuki and the events of 2004 during the Fifth Holy Grail War. In response, Chaldea harnesses an experimental means of time travel, the Rayshift technology. With it, Ritsuka Fujimaru (a young man or woman, depending on the player's choice of gender) was newly recruited to the organization, and a mysterious girl named Mash Kyrielight, can travel back to 2004 and discover how to save humanity. A grand order to fight fate has been declared—an order to change the past and restore the future.[12] Following the events in Fuyuki, Ritsuka Fujimaru and Mash Kyrielight must restore the Foundation of Humanity by retrieving powerful Holy Grails.
